Overview

Most ops dashboards fail the same way: they show everything, so people stop opening them. This pipeline does the opposite — it pulls overnight production, fulfillment, and pipeline data and compresses it into a one-page digest with the handful of numbers that actually need a human decision that day, delivered straight to Slack or email before the morning standup.

The problem

A dashboard with forty metrics requires someone to know which four matter today. A digest should already know that — it should surface only what moved, what’s off-target, and what needs a decision, not require leadership to go hunting for it.

What it does

  • Pulls overnight data from production, fulfillment, and CRM systems on a fixed early-morning schedule
  • Computes day-over-day and trailing-average deltas to flag what actually moved versus normal noise
  • Generates a short, formatted digest — top-line numbers, anomalies flagged, no chart-reading required
  • Delivers it to Slack/email before the team’s first meeting of the day, every day, with zero manual steps

Stack

n8n runs the scheduled pipeline — pulling from source systems and handling delivery. Python does the trend/anomaly calculations that decide what’s worth flagging versus what’s normal variation, since that logic is easier to get right and test outside of a no-code flow.

Why it matters

The point isn’t more visibility — it’s less noise. A digest that takes thirty seconds to read and surfaces the one thing that needs attention beats a dashboard that takes ten minutes to interpret and usually gets skipped.
